The First of Only Five Pieces in the World
My kimono design is inspired by the traditional cormorant fishing culture of the Nagara River in Gifu, my hometown.
The motif represents “Sōgarami,” a breathtaking scene where multiple ukai boats line up across the river in harmony.

Nagara River cormorant fishing is said to have been loved even by Oda Nobunaga.
Using the traditional Japanese dyeing technique called Muzen Yuzen, I expressed its history and beauty through carefully hand-painted details.
Each piece is entirely handmade, making every kimono truly one of a kind.
Through this kimono, I hope to share the history and culture of Gifu, as well as the beauty of Japanese tradition, with the world.
